The Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding School is run by Chris Moore and is a PASA(Professional Air Sports Association) certified school. Actually, Chris is the guy that formulated the teaching techniques for PASA and his teaching manuals and methods are the basis for this national certification system! He certifies other instructors from around the nation. These standards insure you that you will get quality instruction. Chris Moore is the kiteboarding industry chairperson and head instructor for PASA. His manuals and work have contributed greatly to setting standards for many other kiteboarding schools.
Chris Moore has been involved in Kiting professionally since 1990, for the past 15 years! His background as a sportkite competitor/athlete took him all over the world, he traveled to 18 different countries and nearly all the states. He earned the title of Overall USA national champion twice and also competed in pairs and team events to the world's highest level competing in national and international events. His involvement with traction kiting pre-dated today's modern Kiteboarding kites. He has been avidly involved in kite traction of nearly all sorts.
He started kiteboarding in early 2000, when he moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to pursue a full time career in kiteboarding. He pioneered the PASA (Professional Air Sports Association) Kiteboarding Division. He developed a formal teaching method that was adopted by PASA and has become the official certification system in place today to certify both sport participants and instructors across the nation.
Chris' passion for the sport and his genuine personal interests in his students still shines through today as he operates one of the nations largest kiteboarding centers, the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Center. Their waterfront locations are located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where you can take advantage of some incredible conditions for learning with 390 square miles of flat shallow 'sound' waters and reliable winds.
