Epic Kiteboarding Kites
Epic Kiteboarding was founded in 2009 by world class kiteboarder, Dimitri Maramenides. We have known Dimitri since the beginning of kiteboarding and have watched him be an infuential pro rider, helping to design kites and boards with many companies. His riding style and athletic ability has gained him worldwide fame. His intense energy and marketing skills has also dubbed him the most photographed kiteboarder always pushing the limits in regards to skill and staging the shot. When he told us he was starting his own company and had some kite designs that had been in the works for a while, we were very excited! Now that we have tested the kites, we are even more excited. The 2010 Epic Kites line up is the Renegade, Screamer, and LE Screamer.
In March 2010 Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort opens their North American Rental Center for its second year at their new 4 acre kiteboarding resort on Hatteras Island, NC! The focus of the Rental Center is to have Epic kites(and loads more!) for kiteboarders to try out and ride! The location is amazing, the service is incredbilbe, and the selection will blow your mind.

Renegade Kiteboarding Kite - I would classify this kite as a Freeride kite and a wave kite. The Renegade is the most user friendly and everyone feels quite comfortable with the kite immediately. It is extremely forgiving with lots of de-power ability. The water relaunching is very easy, we even anchored the kite in the water by the trim loop and let it stand on its wingtip unattended! The kite responds to your input with above average turning and would be best for general freeride kiting and wave riding.
Screamer Kiteboarding Kite - A Freestyle kite that packs a lot of punch. This kite is lightning fast and flies very far upwind. This makes it an incredible freestyle kite. Since the kite flies so far into the wind, it makes it easier to go upwind. Also turning the kite back for a jump creates a much higher jump as the kite is so far forward. Be prepared to jump higher than you are used to jumping! In short for stability and ease of use go with the Renegade. For performance jumping and a faster kite to take you upwind easier the Screamer is your kite.
