For beginners, get a seat harness so it won't climb up on you. Seat harnesses will provide better support on your lower back and eliminate back pains. The seat harness also offers a lower hook position, which gives beginners more weight leverage and balance since the pull is closer to your center of gravity. This lower position also increases your "reach" and ability to de-power the kite.
