You should always wear a safety leash from your kite to your harness. This is so that when you need to activate the safety system, you pull the quick release on the trim loop and the kite will completely “flag-out”, this means to dis-arm the kite so that it is flattened out from wingtip to wingtip since only one line is tight(like a flag in the wind) it cannot create any pull at this point and it doesn’t completely separate from you! Without this, your kite will fly downwind and can injure somebody else, totally destroy your kite, or fly out into the open waters with no chance of retrieval…
Attach one end of the leash to your center flying line, outside line, or even to your trim loop. There is typically an attachment point that varies with each kite control bar. The other end clips onto your harness.
This is a Mystic Kiteboarding Leash that will work perfectly for handlepasses! Super strong line covered in elastic soft bungee with stainless steel clips on one end and a quick release mechanism on the other end. This keeps the cord from tangling on you and is easy to clip on/off.
