Selecting a Wetsuit
Thickness - Thicker wetsuits are warmer, but you sacrifice flexibility.
3/3mm wetsuits are lighter and better suited for warmer water temps where you need less warmth and can get more flexibility.
4/3mm - All purpose wetsuits that are the most versatile.
5/3-6/3 wetsuits are for colder water and offer the most warmth.
Smooth Skin Neoprene
offers more wind protection as the wind doesn't go through the wetsuit so it is very suitable to kiteboarding or other wind sports. Smooth skin is more expensive and tends to be less durable so you often see it only in the core chest and back panels to keep the prices down. Full smooth skin wetsuits are best, but the most expensive.
More expensive wetsuits will have high tech linings like HotCell to increase warmth and comfort.
